In the above video we show in slow motion
the simultaneous fall
of a point particle
and a solid metal bar
over a frictionless floor.
We notice that the point particle is already on the floor
when the bar is still on its way.
We may conlude that the motion of an extended object
differs from that of a point particle.
The video at the next page shows the same situation
but now in the center-of-mass frame of the bar.
