In the above video we study the reflection
of a wave at an open end.
The blue line at the bottom of the video indicates
the position of the front of the reflected pulse.
Here, we stop the video at a different instant as in the previous video.
Notice that there are no displacements in the part
where the two waves interfere at the instant that the video is stopped.
Now the video did catch
the instant where all displacements are exactly zero.
Notice that at the open (loose) end the amplitude is maximum.
