For the position y=y(t) of the object one has the equation given by

dy/dt = v(t) = v_term( e^- t/T - 1 )

which is solved by

y = y(t) = y_max - v_term( Te^- t/T + t - T)

where y_max represents the maximum height of the object which occurs at the instant of time t=0:

y(t=0) = y_max - v_term( Te^- 0/T + 0 - T) = y_max - v_term( T + 0 - T) = y_max

and which has to be measured in experiment.
